Rebecca Teem
Soprano
Rebecca Teem, who made her very successful European debut in 2008 as Brünnhilde in Die Walküre in Lübeck, is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time. Her Siegfried Brünnhilde in Lübeck was equally successful and her Brünnhilde in Götterdämmerung there, which earned her stunning reviews from national and international press, was followed by triumphant performances of Götterdämmerung in Essen under Stefan Soltesz. This American soprano began her career as a mezzo-soprano and enjoyed great success at many competitions, including the Metropolitan Oper National Young Artists Auditions. These were followed by some of the great roles in the mezzo-soprano fach, including Azucena in Il trovatore and Eboli in Don Carlos. Her first role after changing to the dramatic soprano fach in 2004/05 was Tosca at the New York Opera Forum, which was followed by Aida and Elektra. She made her debut at Theater Lübeck as Turandot, a role she has also sung at the Staatstheater in Braunschweig. Her repertoire also includes the role of Gerhilde in Die Walküre (2011 at the Deutsche Oper Berlin). She will sing her first Isolde in 2013, in Lübeck.
