Andrew Shore
Baritone
Andrew Shore sang Alberich at the Bayreuth Festival from 2006 - 2010 and took part in their Ring des Nibelungen at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires late last year. After making his debut in Frankfurt in the Ring he will sing Alberich again, at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. Admired the world over for his marvellous voice and acting abilities he has appeared at many houses in England, including English National Opera and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, in America, the Met in New York, San Francisco Opera and the Lyric Opera of Chicago amongst others, and opera companies in other countries, such as La Scala Milan and the Opéra National de Paris. His repertoire includes the title roles in Falstaff, Wozzeck, Gianni Schicchi and Don Pasquale, Beckmesser (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Dr. Kolenatý (The Makropoulos Case), Dr. Bartolo and Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Dulcamara (L’elisir d’amore), Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte), Frank (Die Fledermaus) and Baron Zeta (The Merry Widow). He also enjoyed great success in the world premiere of Philip Glass’ Appomattox.
