Jacquelyn Wagner
Soprano
Jacquelyn Wagner enjoyed great success when she stepped in at short notice to sing Violetta in La Traviata conducted by Julia Jones at the Volksoper in Vienna (house debut) at the beginning of the 2012/13 season – she then sang the role at Oper Frankfurt last December, again at short notice. Other projects this season include Countess Almaviva, a role she sang in Frankfurt in 2010, in a new production of Le nozze di Figaro at the Volksoper in Vienna, her first Suor Angelica in a new production at Cologne Opera and Ortlinde in Die Walküre in Florence, conducted by Zubin Mehta. She made her debut in Japan singing the Countess on tour with Oper Basel. Currently a member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin Jacquelyn Wagner has also appeared in other theatres, including the Semperoper in Dresden, Theater Basel, the Grand Théâtre in Geneva, the Gran Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona, the Staatstheater in Stuttgart, the Vlaamse Opera, Opéra Marseille and Miami Opera. This soprano has also enjoyed great success at many renowned singing competitions, including the Queen Sonja International Music Competition, Plácido Domingo’s Operalia Competition and the Francisco Viñas International Singing Contest.
