Roland Böer’s most recent engagements at Oper Frankfurt, where he was a Kapellmeister from 2002-2008, were new prooductions of Lucia di Lammermoor and Hoffmanns Erzählungen/The Tales of Hoffmann and a revival of Arabella in 2009/10. He has been Music Director of the Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte in Montepulciano since 2009. Other recent engagements have included productions at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opera North, English National Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Royal opera houses in Stockholm and Copenhagen and the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw. He also works regularly at the Volksoper in Vienna and Opéra National du Rhin in Strassbourg, where he conducted Die Fledermaus in 2011, the same year that he made his very successful debut at La Scala Milan with Die Zauberflöte (Opus Arte DVD available), which led to his being invited back for a concert and revival of Die Entführung aus dem Serail/The Abduction from the Seraglio. Roland Böer appears with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra in February 2013 and forthcoming engagements include Tannhäuser in Copenhagen and the first revival of the soon to open new production of Idomeneo at Oper Frankfurt.
