Roland Böer
Roland Böer was a Kapellmeister at Oper Frankfurt from 2002–2008, returning in subsequent seasons for new productions of Lucia di Lammermoor and Hoffmanns Erzählungen/The Tales of Hoffmann and revivals of Arabella and Die Fledermaus. He recently conducted Tannhäuser at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen. He has been Music Director of the Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte in Montepulciano since 2009. Recent engagements have included appearances at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opera North, English National Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Royal Opera in Stockholm and the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw. He also works regularly at the Volksoper in Vienna and the Opéra National du Rhin in Strassbourg, where he conducted Die Fledermaus in 2011, the same year that he made his debut at La Scala Milan, with Die Zauberflöte (available on DVD Opus Arte). Roland Böer conducted the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra for the first time in February 2013, making an extensive archive programme for Bavarian Radio.
