Leah Crocetto, who is singing the role of Mrs. Alice Ford for the first time, made her debut at Oper Frankfurt in the 2012/13 season, singing Desdemona in Otello, a role she sang at theTeatro la Fenice in Venice and, more recently, in Bordeaux. After success at the 2010 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions this young soprano represented the USA at the 2011 Cardiff BBC Singer of the World Competition. Conductors with whom she has worked have included Gustavo Dudamel, Donald Runnicles, Riccardo Muti and Nicola Luisotti. She graduated from San Francisco Opera's Merola Opera Program and productions in which she participated included Aida, Il trittico, Turandot and Cyrano de Bergerac. Recent engagements have included the title role in Luisa Miller in Tel Aviv and Verdi's Messa da Requiem (a work she has performed in with the Columbus Symphony, Albany Symphony and Los Angeles Philharmonic) with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Leah Crocetto's first appearances in Europe were in 2010/11 as Leonora in Il trovatore, a role she sang at the Arena di Verona in 2013, at the Opéra National de Bordeaux. Other roles during 2014 include Mimì in La Bohème.
