Leah Crocetto

Soprano

Leah Crocetto
Leah Crocetto is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time. This young soprano represented the USA at the Cardiff BBC Singer of the World Competition after she enjoyed great success at the 2010 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Conductors with whom she has worked have included Gustavo Dudamel, Donald Runnicles, Riccardo Muti and Nicola Luisotti. As a graduate from San Francisco Opera’s Merola Opera Program she took part in productions including Aida, Il trittico, Turandot and Cyrano de Bergerac and covered the role of Desdemona. Early in the 2012/13 season she made her debut with Desdemona at the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice, which will go on tour this year to Japan. Other forthcoming engagements include the title role in Luisa Miller in Tel Aviv and Verdi’s Messa da Requiem (a work she has already sung with the Columbus Symphony, Albany Symphony and Los Angeles Philharmonic) with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Leah Crocetto’s first appearances in Europe were performances of Leonora in Il trovatore at the Opéra National de Bordeaux in 2010/11.
