Philipp Alexander Mehr made his debut at Oper Frankfurt in 1999, aged twelve, in Davies’ Cinderella under Johannes Debus and returned this season to sing the role of the tall Englishman in the new production of Der Spieler/The Gambler. He studied at the Hochschule for Music and the Performing Arts in Frankfurt with Prof. Berthold Possemeyer from 2004 - 2010 before taking lessons from Prof. Rudolf Piernay in Mannheim. Masterclasses in which he has participated include those run by Kurt Moll and Thomas Heyer. This young bass has received a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Foundation and has gathered experience in many ways, including concerts, as co-founder of the charitable orientated Chanson & Cabaret Duo »Mehr & Milde« and as Mack the Knife in a hr (Hessische Rundfunk) production of Dreigroschenoper/The Threepenny Opera.
