Michael König
Michael König is a regular guest at Oper Frankfurt, where he sang the title role in Lohengrin last season. Roles for the company in the past have included Narraboth (Salome), Kavalier (Cardillac), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Boris (Katja Kabanová), the Kaiser (Die Frau ohne Schatten) and Florestan (Fidelio). Other engagements in recent seasons have included appearances at the Hamburg and Berlin state operas, the Opéra National de Paris, Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam, the Canadian Opera Company, Zurich Opera, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and the Bayreuth Festival, working with conductors including Christian Thielemann, Vladimir Jurowski, Daniele Gatti, Seiji Ozawa, Hartmut Haenchen and Kent Nagano. Future engagements include Erik in The Flying Dutchman/Der fliegende Holländer) at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and Lohengrin at theTeatro Real in Madrid. This tenor studied with Rudolf Piernay. He go to Japan in November 2013 to sing in Beethoven 9 with the Vienna Philharmonic.
