Camilla Nylund
Finnish soprano Camilla Nylund made her debut at Oper Frankfurt in 2009/10 with the title role in Arabella and returned last season for Elsa in Lohengrin. She returned to the Bayreuth Festival in 2013 for Elisabeth in Tannhäuser, which followed on from performances of the title role in Rusalka at the Grand Théâtre in Geneva. Other engagements during the 2013/14 season include Marietta in Die tote Stadt at Finnish National Opera in Helsinki, the title role in Salome at the Staatsoper in Berlin and Philadelphia Opera and Elsa at the Vienna State Opera. Camilla Nylund's repertoire also includes the roles of Countess Madeleine (Capriccio), Eva (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Elisabetta (Don Carlo), Freia (Der Ring des Nibelungen), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) and Esmeralda (Notre Dame). Camilla Nylund was a member of the ensemble at the Semperoper in Dresden until 2001. Other engagements in recent seasons have included performances at Zurich Opera, La Scala Milan, the Opéra Bastille in Paris, New National Theatre in Tokyo, the Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam and the Munich and Hamburg state operas. She works regularly with many of the world's leading conductors, including Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, Franz Welser-Möst, Christian Thielemann and Ingo Metzmacher.
