Kristiane Kaiser
Soprano
This soprano has been a member of the ensemble at the Volksoper in Vienna since 2004, where she has sung in many performances of Die Fledermaus. Recent roles there have included Dvořák’s Rusalka and she will soon be singing Nedda in I Pagliacci for the first time. Guest engagements have included appearances at the De Vlaamse Opera in Ghent, the Stadttheater in Klagenfurt, Oper Zürich, the Semperoper in Dresden and the Berlin, Munich and Hamburg state operas. Her repertoire includes Mozart’s Pamina, Donna Anna, Konstanze (2004 at short notice at Oper Frankfurt) and Contessa Almaviva, Micaëla (Carmen), Martha (Der Evangelimann), Marie (Die verkaufte Braut/The Bartered Bride), Agathe (Der Freischütz), Antonia (The Tales of Hoffmann), Countess Zedlau (Wiener Blut/Viennese Blood) and Liù (Turandot), lead roles in Lehár’s Friederike and Paganini, Humperdinck’s Dornröschen/Sleeping Beauty and Lachner’s Catharina Cornaro. Recent concert work has included appearances at the Musikverein in Vienna with Ingo Metzmacher and Beethoven 9 with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome conducted by Juraj Valcuha. Kristiane Kaiser was awarded the Eberhard-Waechter medal in 2005.
