Opera for Families 2015/2016

The aim of the Opera for Families series is to give a younger public long lasting experiences of theatre: our generous sponsor makes it possible for us to give families the really amazing chance of attending a performance at Oper Frankfurt together, for next to nothing. An adult, purchasing a ticket, is entitled to apply for up to THREE FREE TICKETS for children and young people under the age of 19.
Performances in this series begin earlier than normal and the operas are selected with younger people in mind.

Die Hochzeit des Figaro/The Marriage of Figaro
Figaro and Susanna are engaged. Unfortunately Count Almaviva also has his eye on her, which does not amuse his wife, or Figaro. Everyone joins forces to pay him back.

Die diebische Elster/The Thieving Magpie
The maid Ninetta finds herself in trouble when a silver spoon goes missing. She is saved from being executed when, at the last minute, it is discovered that the real thief is a magpie.

Giulio Cesare in Egitto/Julius Caesar in Egypt
Julius Caesar finds himself ensnared in a web of revenge and intrigue: he falls in love with the beautiful Cleopatra. Her brother Tolomeo is not amused, and wants to kill Caesar. He imprisons Cleopatra so that he can claim the throne.
