Franck Ollu
The French conductor Franck Ollu is acknowledged as one of the world's leading experts in comtemporary music. He has conducted a large number of world premieres by many composers, including Heiner Goebbels, Helmut Lachenmann, Péter Eötvös, Brian Ferneyhough, Pascal Dusapin and Wolfgang Rihm. He enjoys long and close associations with the Ensemble Modern and the Swedish New Music Chamber Group, of which he is artistic director. Franck Ollu also appears regularly with other ensembles and orchestrras, including the Elision Ensemble, the Asko Schönberg Ensemble, the Avanti Ensemble, the Philharmonia Orchestra London, BR Sinfonieorchester, hr-Sinfonieorchester, Orquesta Nacional d’España, Orchestre National de Lyon, Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Orquestra Nacional do Porto and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Festivals at which he has appeared have included the Aldeburgh Festival, Vienna Modern Music Festival, the MusikTriennale in Cologne, the Donaueschinger Musiktagen, the Festival d’Automne à Paris, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and Salzburg Festival and opera houses where he has conducted have included the Opéra de Bastille Paris, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden London and Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels. Franck Ollu recently conducted George Benjamin's Written on Skin at the Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam and Théâtre du Capitole Toulouse and engagements later this season include Frank Martin's Le Vin Herbé at the Berlin State Opera.
