Maria Pantyukhova
Maria Pantiukhova joined the Opera Studio at Oper Frankfurt last season. During our 2014/15 season she sings one of the Sirens in the world premiere of Rolf Riehm's Sirenen – Bilder des Begehrens und des Vernichtens/Sirens – Scenes of Desire and Destruction, Meg Page in Falstaff, the Turnspit in (Rusalka), Krystina in the first ever performances in Frankfurt of Mieczysław Weinberg's Die Passagierin/The (female) Passenger, a Flower Maiden in Parsifal and the Landlord's Daughter in Humperdinck's Königskinder/Royal Children. She was born in Russia and studied at the »N.A. Rimsky Korsakov« Conservatoire in St. Petersburg. She also took part in masterclasses, including one held by Tito Capobianco. This young mezzo-soprano's repertoire includes the roles of Dido (Dido and Aeneas), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) and Olga (Eugen Onegin). Engagements in recent seasons have included appearances at the Nordlys Festival in Tromsø (Norway) and a tour with the St. Petersburg Conservatoire, which included several appearances at the Siktiwkar Opera House (Komi Republic / Russia).
