Lianna Haroutounian
The Armenian soprano Lianna Haroutounian, one of the most promising Verdi singers of her generation, is making her debut at Oper Frankfurt singing the role of Princess Helene, a role she has sung in the Megaron concert hall in Athens and in Bilbao. Recent engagements have included Amelia (Un ballo in maschera) at the Gran Theatre in Tours, Elisabeth de Valois (Don Carlo) at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden London and the title role in Madame Butterfly at the Sanxay Festival. Her broad repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary music. Lianna Haroutounian trained as a pianist before taking up singing at the State Music Conservatory Komitas in Erewan. She went to the Opera Bastille's Centre de Formation Lyrique in 2000 to continue her studies. She has enjoyed great success at many international singing competitions, including those in Marmande and theAquitaine region, at the 6th "Jaume Aragall International International Singing Competition" in Girona, the "Vincenzo Bellini International Singing Competition" in Caltanissetta and "Voci Verdiane Competition" in Busetto.
