Zoltán Nyári
Hungarian tenor Zoltán Nyári is making his debut at Oper Frankfurt. In 2005 he joined the ensemble at the Magyar Állami Operaház in Budapest, where roles during the 2013/14 season include Heinrich der Schreiber (Tannhäuser), Cassio (Otello), Don José (Carmen) and Narraboth (Salome). He sang the role of the Prince in Rusalka for the first time at the Semperoper in Dresden in 2011. Zoltán Nyári's other recent guest engagements have included Paul (Die tote Stadt) at the »Budapest Spring« Festival and a world tour of operetta with Theatre Budapest, where he used to be a member of the company. His repertoire also includes the roles of Lenski (Eugen Onegin), Hoffmann (Hoffmanns Erzählungen/The Tales of Hoffmann), Mario Cavaradossi (Tosca), Rodolfo (La Bohème), Alfredo (La Traviata), Tobias Picker (Emmeline) and D. Alagna (Le dernier jour d’un condamné). In 2009 he won 1st prize at the Mezzo Television Opera competition in Szeged. Zoltán Nyári studied acting at the University of Drama and Film in Budapest and singing with Magda Nádor.
