Erika Sunnegårdh's roles in new productions at Oper Frankfurt in recent seasons were the title role in Weber's Euryanthe, Leonore in Fidelio and Floria Tosca. She also sang in Beethoven 9 in a Museumskonzert. This Swedish/American soprano recently sang Senta, the Kaiserin (Die Frau ohne Schatten) and the title role in Norma in Wiesbaden and Turandot at the Bregenz Festival. Future engagements include Regan in Reimann's Lear at the Opéra National in Paris, Chrysothemis in Elektra in Wiesbaden, Senta and Salome at the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw and Salome at the Vienna State Opera. Highlights in her career to date have included Turandot and Leonore at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Salome in Bologna, at the Semperoper in Dresden, Bayerischen Staatsoper in Munich, Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and Canadian Opera Company in Toronto, Jenufa and Paulina in the world premiere of Jonas Forssell's Death and the Maiden in Malmö, Mahler 8 with the Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig under Riccardo Chailly and the Berlin Philharmonic under Sir Simon Rattle and Verdi's Requiem under Gustavo Dudamel, Daniel Harding and Alan Gilbert. Her first solo recording, with music by Beethoven, Wagner and Strauss, was released in 2013. Erika Sunnegårdh is a guest professor at the Richard Wagner Conservatoire in Vienna.
