Erika Sunnegårdh has appeared at Oper Frankfurt before, as Leonore in Fidelio and Floria Tosca (both new productions) and in Beethoven 9, in a pair of Museum's concerts. She is now back to sing Euryanthe (role debut). This Swedish/American soprano recently sang the Kaiserin in Die Frau ohne Schatten and title role in Norma in Wiesbaden. Future engagements include Regan in Reimann's Lear at the Opéra National in Paris, Turandot at the Bregenz Festival and the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Senta in Der fliegende Holländer/The Flying Dutchman and Salome at the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw and Chrysothemis (Elektra) and Senta in Wiesbaden. Highlights in recent seasons have included Turandot and Leonore at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the title role in Salome in Bologna, the Semperoper in Dresden, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto, Paulina in the world premiere of Jonas Forssell's Death and the Maiden in Malmö, Mahler 8 with the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig under Riccardo Chailly and Berlin Philharmonic under Sir Simon Rattle and Verdi's Requiem under Gustavo Dudamel, Daniel Harding and Alan Gilbert. Her first solo recording, with music by Beethoven, Wagner and Strauss, was released in 2013. Erika Sunnegårdh is a guest professor at the Richard Wagner Conservatoire in Vienna.
