Delphine Galou
The French alto Delphine Galou, who specialises in baroque music, is making her debut at Oper Frankfurt with the title role in this revival of Orlando Furioso. She recently sang Vivaldi's Argene (L’incoronazione di Dario/The Coronation of Dario) at the Musikfest in Bremen, Gluck's Orfeo (Orfeo ed Euridice) at the Opéra National de Montpellier and Handel's Galatea (Aci, Galatea e Polifemo) under Emmanuelle Haïm at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris. In 2014 she sings Disinganno (Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno) again at the State Opera in Berlin. Since ADAMI, a French foundation which supports young artists, named her »Discovery of the Year« in 2004 she has worked with many renowned ensembles including the Balthasar Neumann Chorus & Ensemble (Thomas Hengelbrock), I Barocchisti (Diego Fasolis), the Accademia Bizantina (Ottavio Dantone), Venice Baroque Orchestra (Andrea Marcon), Il Complesso Barocco (Sir Alan Curtis), Les Arts Florissants (Jonathan Cohen), Les Musiciens du Louvre Grenoble (Marc Minkowski) and Les Talens Lyriques (Christophe Rousset). Her discography includes Porpora's Vespro per la festivita dell’Assunta (live recording Ambronay), Vivaldi's Teuzzone (Naive) and Vivaldi's Orlando (Naive). After studying philosophy, piano and singing she began her career at the Opéra National du Rhin's opera studio: »Jeunes Voix du Rhin«
