Marc Soustrot
Marc Soustrot has conducted Puccini's La Rondine (concert performances) and Die Fledermaus at Oper Frankfurt in recent seasons. The posts he held as Chief Conductor and Artistic Manager (Orchestre Philharmonique des Pays de la Loire from 1976-1994, Beethoven Orchester Bonn from 1995-2003 the Brabants Orkest Eindhoven from 1996- 2006) enabled this French artist to build up an unusually wide and varied repertoire. He has been Chief Conductor of the Malmö Synphony Orchestra since 2011/12. Many of his recordings have won prizes, including a Grand Prix du Disque and the Prix de la Critique. He recently conducted Wagner's Götterdämmerung at the Staatstheater in Stuttgart, where he returns in 2014 for Siegfried. Other opera houses and orchestras with whom he has worked have included those in Madrid, Geneva, Brussels, Copenhagen and Oslo, the Bamberger Symphoniker, Munich Philharmoniker, the English Chamber Orchestra and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Marc Soustrot was awarded the »Legion d’Honneur« in 2008.
