Bryan Hymel
American tenor Bryan Hymel is one of the most sought after singers in the world. He is making his debut at Oper Frankfurt with the title role in these concert performances of Edgar. Recent engagements have included Arrigo (I vespri siciliani) at Covent Garden and Pinkerton (Madame Butterfly) at the Metropolitan Opera New York. In 2014 he sings Pinkerton at the Vienna State Opera, the title role in The Tales of Hoffmann in Zurich and Arnold (Wilhelm Tell) at the Opera Festival in Munich. His international career really took off after he sang Aeneas in The Trojans at Covent Garden in the summer of 2012. Other engagements in recent seasons have included performances at the Canadian Opera Company, Boston Lyric Opera, Santa Fe Opera, the Wexford Festival, English National Opera, the Opéra National Bordeaux and Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam. Bryan Hymel won a Lawrence Olivier Award in 2013 for his astonishing achievements in The Trojans, Robert le diable and Rusalka at Covent Garden and was awarded the Beverly Sills Award by the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
