Marco Vratogna

Baritone

Marco Vratogna
The Italian baritone Marco Vratogna is already known to audiences in Frankfurt, where he has sung Tonio (I Pagliacci), Scarpia (Tosca), Renato (Ein Maskenball/Un ballo in maschera), Verdi's Macbeth, Nabucco and Jago (Otello). He returned earlier on this season to sing the role of Frank in concert performances of Puccini's Edgar. Since making his operatic debut in 2000 he has sung Stankar (Stiffelio, available on CD – Dynamic), appeared at the Teatro Verdi in Triest and become a regular guest at theatres including the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Semperoper in Dresden, Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Vienna State Opera, La Scala Milan, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, San Francisco Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Met in New York, New National Theatre in Tokyo and the New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv. He recently sang Rigoletto at the New National Theatre Tokyo and Seattle Opera and Amonasro (Aida) at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples. Engagements later on in 2014 include appearances in Sydney, Verona and Melbourne. It was a great honour for him when he was invited to take part in a concert celebrating Luciano Pavarotti's 40 year long career.
