Anne-Sofie von OtterThe Stockholm born Swedish mezzo-soprano is firmly established as one of the leading singers in her fach in opera and concert. One of her most successful roles is Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier, which she has sung at Covent Garden, the Bavarian State Opera, Vienna State Opera, the Met in New York and in Japan. In recent seasons she has added new roles to her repertoire: Médée in Charpentier's opera of the same name at Oper Frankfurt (Bockenheimer Depot), Countess Geschwitz (Lulu) at the Met in New York, Clytemnestre (Iphigenie en Aulide) and Geneviève (Pelléas et Mélisande) at the Opéra National de Paris. She sang in Handel's Giulio Cesare at the 2012 Salzburg Festival. Concerts in 2012/13 included appearances with the Berlin Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic and Boston Symphony Orchestra. She has enjoyed close and rewarding collaboration with many leading conductors during her career, including James Levin, Sir Simon Rattle, Christoph Eschenbach and Claudio Abbado, under whom she sang Das Lied von der Erde in a concert to mark the 100th anniversary of Gustav Mahler's death.
