British soprano Louise Alder reinforces Oper Frankfurt's ensemble from the beginning of the 2014/15 season, during which she sings Musetta in a revival of La Bohème, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, Lisa in La Sonnambula and Silandra in Cesti's L’Orontea - all new productions - a Flower Maiden in Parsifal and Hermione in concert performances of Strauss' Die ägyptische Helena/The Egyptian Helen. She gave a joint recital here with the baritone Björn Bürger in October, when a singer cancelled at very short notice. She returns to Glyndebourne, where she sang Sophie in a new production of Der Rosenkavalier this summer, in 2015 for Lucia in Britten's The Rape of Lucretia. Recent successes have included Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) and the title role in Monteverdi's L’incoronazione di Poppea at the Royal College of Music, Clomiri (Imeneo) at the London Handel Festival, Atalanta (Xerxes) with the English Touring Company, Lucia (The Rape of Lucretia) for British Youth Opera and Musetta in a Laurence Olivier Award winning Opera Up Close production of La Bohème at the Soho Theatre. She has also sung Rapunzel (Into the Woods) at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris and Zélidie (Zaïs) with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Other places where she has performed in recent seasons have included the Aldeburgh, St. Magnus and London Handel festivals, the Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, the Southbank Centre, Holywell Music Room in Oxford and Perth Concert Hall. Louise Alder graduated from the Royal College of Music London, where she was the first student to be awarded the Kiri Te Kanawa scholarship. She has won prizes at many competitions, including the »Kathleen Ferrier«, »Ted Moss & Bertha Taylor-Stach Lieder« and »Van Someren Godfery English Song« competitions. She also received the Miriam Licette Award, the Independent Opera Fellowship Award and 2013 Glyndebourne Tour Donald Albert Anderson Award.
