The soprano Anja Petersen, who is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time, has been much in demand for repertoire ranging from baroque to the contemporary since 2008. Places where she has performed in recent seasons have included the Staatstheater in Wiesbaden, Theater Bremen, the Stuttgart and Dresden state operas, the New European Festival in Stuttgart and the Klangspuren Festival in Innsbruck, with the Ensemble Modern. She was a member of the Neuen Vocalsolisten in Stuttgart and has been a member of the RIAS Chamber Chorus since 2010. She was a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater in Oldenburg from 2002 - 2007 where she sang many lyric coloratura roles. She studied the violin and teaching music in Stuttgart before embarking on her vocal career, and works closely with the WDR Radio Orchestra and Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, with whom she appeared for the first time in 2017, under Johannes Kalitzke.
