Stefan Hageneier

Stefan Hageneier worked at Oper Frankfurt for the first time on this production of La sonnambula. This set and costume designer works regularly with the director Tina Lanik (recent productions have included La traviata at Theater Dortmund, Junk at the Residenztheater in Munich). Another important colleague is the director Christian Stück, for whom he worked as a designer on productions of Passion plays in Oberammergau in 2000, 2010 and 2018, Pfitzner's Palestrina and Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos. He has also worked with Robert Wilson, Thomas Langhoff and Dieter Dorn. Engagements have taken Stefan Hageneier to many leading theatres, including the Hamburg and Munich state operas, the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Schauspielhaus in Zürich and Burgtheater in Vienna. He became a professor for set and costume design at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee / Berlin in 2011. This professional wood sculpter also worked as a set and costume designer at the Bayerische Staatsschauspiel from 2001 – 2010.
