Mimi Jordan Sherin, who was born in the USA, was lighting designer for this production of Billy Budd when it first opened in 2007/08. She works regularly with Richard Jones on opera productions at leading opera companies around the world, including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and English National Opera in London, the Metropolitan Opera and City Opera in New York, in Chicago, Washington, Glyndebourne, Venice, Tokyo, Zürich, at the Vienna and Munich state operas, the Opéra National in Paris and Bregenz Festival. She has also worked on many plays in America and England, from the Royal Shakespeare Company to Broadway. She has won many awards, including the American Theatre Wing Award.
