Patrick Bannwart has worked closely and regularly with the director David Bösch since 2004, including new productions of Humperdinck's Königskinder (available on CD - OehmsClassics) and Der fliegende Holländer at Oper Frankfurt. They have produced many new productions of plays and operas in Essen, Bochum, the Thalia Theater Hamburg, the Salzburg Festival, the Schauspielhaus in Zürich, Burgtheater in Vienna, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London and the Nationale Opera in Amsterdam. He makes his debut at the Semperoper in Dresden this season with Korngold's Die tote Stadt/The Dead City. He is also much sought after as an illustrator, who designed the front covers of editions of Die Deutsche Bühne (theater magazine) in 2013 and published a collection of drawings of Kantinenhelden/Cantine Heroes. Patrick Bannwart was taught by Erich Wonder at the Akademie der bildenden Künste in Vienna.
