THE Opera house

Is situated on Willy-Brandt-Platz. It has 1375 seats: 22 rows in the stalls and three circles, the Holz and Wolken foyers and the Chagall Saal.

Quite a few events take place in the Holzfoyer on the first floor, including chamber music concerts, Opera Extra and introductory talkes before performances begin

U-Bahn (underground) lines U1, U2, U3, U4 & U5, trams 11, 12 and the N8 all stop at Willy-Brandt Platz.

A ticket for the opera (this does not apply if your ticket has cost you nothing) allows you to travel free on public transport from 5 hours before the performance begins until the service closes down at night. (You must pay for an upgrade if you want to travel first class). Free travel is not possible on tickets printed out at home (Ticketdirect).

Parking

The »Am Theater« garage (SEE MAP ABOVE: Einfahrt=Entrance, Ausfahrt=Exit) takes you to within a few paces of the opera house. Entrance to garage possible on workdays from 7am to midnight, Sundays and bank holidays from 10am until midnight. You can leave the garage at any time. Parking costs €2 per hour, €1 on Sundays and bank holidays. There is a SPECIAL €6 EVENING TARIFF (available from 5pm. You can park after 5pm but have to leave the car park before 8am the following morning). There are special parking places for women and wheelchair users near the lift on all levels.

The »Parkhaus Untermainanlage« garage (2-3 minutes walk from the theatre) is on the corner of Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße and Untermainanlage, entrance/Einfahrt is in Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße (which you can see on the map although the garage itself is not marked). This is a one-way street heading into town and the opera house. If you were driving along the road parallel to the river (Untermainkai) you should turn off into Mainluststraße and then turn first right into Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße. This garage is open every day (you can only drive IN to park until midnight. You can drive OUT at any time. Parking charges are the same as for the garage next to the opera house.

There is another garage (c. 8 minutes by foot from the theatre): »Parkhaus Kaiserplatz«, which is opposite the reception entrance of the Steigenberger Hotel Frankfurter Hof. Entrance to the garage is on Bethmannstraße (which is a one way right turning off Kaiserstrasse). It is open 24 hours a day and costs €2,50 an hour.

Taxi Stand Neue Mainzer Strasse is next to the »Fundus« restaurant, which is situated on the corner of schauspielfrankfurt, which is bang next to Oper Frankfurt. There is another stand opposite the theatre (cross the tram lines and go through the garden and you will see them).

Neue Kaiser

Is a NEW POP UP VENUE, a stone's throw from the opera house, which opens in September 2023 (and available for us to use for at least a year) where events will be held for people of all ages, including babies, to give them a chance to grow to love the world of opera - 16 series in the OPERA FOR YOU Programme.

Bockenheimer Depot

U-Bahn (underground) lines U4, U6 & U7, tram no.16 and busses 32, 36 50 and N1 will all take you to »Bockenheimer Warte« station.

The old parking area next to the Bockenheimer Depot closed in 2012. Parkhaus Ladengalerie Bockenheimer Warte, Adalbertstraße 10, is not far away and costs €1,20 per hour. It is normally only open Mondays – Fridays but is kept open Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays when there are performances of opera, drama or dance in the Depot.

Follow Miquelallee for 800m than take Zeppelinallee
after 800m turn right into Bockenheimer Landstraße
after 200m turn left into Adalbertstraße
after 80m you will find the entrance to the »Parkhaus Ladengalerie Bockenheimer Warte« garage.
