Korean born Eun Sun Kim made her highly successful debut at Oper Frankfurt with a performance of La Bohème which was followed by concert performances of Der Graf von Luxemburg (available on CD – OehmsClassics) and Die Csárdásfürstin, this production of La Sonnambula and Der fliegende Holländer/The Flying Dutchman. She works regularly at the Staatsoper in Berlin, the Royal Opera in Stockholm and the Volksoper in Vienna and enjoyed success at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Semperoper in Dresden, Teatro Real in Madrid, English National Opera in London, Cologne Opera, Graz Opera and in Oslo, Toulon, Marseille and at the Macerata Festival. Last year she made her debut at Houston Grand Opera, which was followed by concerts with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Her busy concert schedule has taken this young conductor to many well known orchestras in Germany, Austria, France, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Spain. After studying in Seoul and Stuttgart Eun Sun Kim won the Lopez Cobos Competition and worked as an assistant at the Teatro Real in Madrid for two years. Future plans include her debut at Zurich Opera, with Carmen, Il trovatore at the Staatsoper Berlin, Hänsel und Gretel at the Bayerische Staatsoper and her debut at San Francisco Opera, with Rusalka, in 2019.
