Maria Pantiukhova left the opera studio to join the Ensemble at Oper Frankfurt in 2016/17, during which roles included the title role in Carmen. She adds three new roles to her repertoire during the 2017/18 season: Maddalena in Rigoletto, Tisbe in La Cenerentola and Olga in Die lustige Witwe/The Merry Widow, gives a recital in the Holzfoyer and repeats her portrayals of Olga in Eugen Onegin and Krystina in Weinberg's Die Passagierin/The (female) Passenger. Other roles in Frankfurt have included Giovanna (concert performances of Verdi's Ernani), Mary (Der fliegende Holländer/The Flying Dutchman), Brigitta (Die tote Stadt/The Dead City), Grimgerde (Die Walküre), Fischverkäuferin/Fisherwoman / Dritter Herr/3rd Man / Handleser/Fortune Teller (Martinů's Julietta), Küchenjunge/Apprentice Cook (Rusalka) and Meg Page (Falstaff). Recent guest engagements have included appearances at the Nordlysfestivalen in Tromsø (Norway) and, many times, the Siktiwkar Opera House (Komi Republic / Russia). This Russian singer studied at the »N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov« Conservatoire in St. Petersburg and Music University in Lübeck and masterclasses in which she has participated have included ones run by Helmut Deutsch, Matthew Epstein, Lilian Watson, Edith Wiens and Tito Capobianco.
