Born in 2001 in Kaposvár (Hungary) Balázs Drahos started music lessons in his home town with Gábor Bogáthy. He won many competitions at home and abroad while a pupil of András Kis at the Leó Weiner School of Music. Highlights in his solo career include concerts with Budapest Strings and the Prague Philharmonic. Many recordings as soloist, chamber and orchestral musician (including ones made by Hungarian Radio) document his artistic achievements. He has been studying with Gábor Tarkövi at the University of Arts in Berlin since 2019 and held a scholarship from the German People’s Studies Foundation since 2020. He was a member of the Bavarian State Orchestra’s Academy from 2021 – 2023 and appears regularly as a guest with renowned groups of musicians including the Bavarian State Orchestra, the Munich Philharmonic, the Staatskapelle Berlin and Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and has been a member of the Hungarian Brass ensemble since 2020.
