Jonathan Beyer is back at Oper Frankfurt, where he has sung Marcello (La Bohème), Ramiro (L’Heure espagnole) and Comte de Vaudemont in Les Vêpres siciliennes, which he sings again in this revival. This versatile baritone's repertoire encompasses Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Escamillo (Carmen) and the title role in John Adams’ Nixon in China. This award winning singer's recent engagements have included Hjalmar Johanson (Srnka's South Pole) at the Staatstheater in Darmstadt, Belcore (L’elisir d’amore) at the Lyrique-en-mer Festival in France, Ping (Turandot) at Vancouver Opera, Malatesta (Don Pasquale) in Naples and the title role in Eugene Onegin with the Boston Youth Symphony. Other engagements have included Rossini's Figaro at Pittsburgh Opera, the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and Philadelphia Opera, Marcello at the Boston Lyric Opera, Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) at Florida Grand Opera and Dandini (La Cenerentola) at the Green Mountain Festival. Jonathan Beyer made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 2011, singing Wagner in Gounod's Faust. Other plans this season include Danilo in The Merry Widow at Saratoga Opera.
