The Austrian mezzo-soprano Helene Feldbauer studied at the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna, was awarded a scholarship by the Mozarteum in Salzburg, sang with the Bach’s Society’s Collegium Vocal and Bach Choir in Salzburg, was taught by Margit Klaushofer and joined Florian Boesch’s Lieder classes. She joined the Opera Studio in Frankfurt last season during which she made her debut singing an Apprentice in a new production of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, which was followed by 2nd Maid and the Boy in two more new productions of Elektra and Kurt Weill'sThe Tsar wants his Photograph Taken. This season she sang Cherubino in our new Le nozze di Figaro and 2nd Maid in Daphne, which is followed by 2nd Maid in the first revival of our new Elektra. She also sang the Landlord's daughter in Humperdinck's Königskinder at the 2023 Summer Festival in Erl, where she  sang Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus (in concert) and returns this summer for Ljubow in a new production of Tchaikovsky's Mazappa. Her roles while studying in Vienna included the Composer (Ariadne auf Naxos), Fidalma (II matrimonio segreto), Libellule, Bergère, Tasse Chinoise (L’enfant et les sortilèges), Larina (Eugene Onegin), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), Cornelia (Giulio Cesare) and Marzelline (Le nozze di Figaro). During the Vienna Philharmonic‘s 2017 Angelika Prokopp Summer Academy she appeared at venues including the Konzerthaus in Vienna, Musikverein in Graz and Castle Thalheim. Helene Feldbauer won Chamber Opera Castle Rheinsberg’s 2020 International Singing Competition, reached the finals of the 2021 Cross Over Competition in Baden, near Vienna, and won the mdw great talent award. Since March 2022 she has appeared in concerts singing Viennese Lieder (she arranged herself) with the Minerva Ensemble. She also sang Dorabella (Così fan tutte) at Gut Wietzow in the summer of 2022.
