The soprano Alison King joined the Opera Studio at Oper Frankfurt in the 2016/17 season, during which she sang 1st Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Musetta in La Boème, Polyxène in a new production of Les Troyens and a fortune teller in Arabella. Her repertoire includes Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Giulietta (I Capuleti e i Montecchi), Clorinda (La Cenerentola), Micaëla (Carmen), Musetta (La Bohème), Brigitta (Tchaikovsky's Iolanthe) and Anne Trulove (Stravinsky's The Rake’s Progress). Places where Alison King has appeared in concert have included the Philharmonia in Yale and Carnegie Hall in New York. Conductors with whom she has worked have included Giuseppe Grazioli, Alexander Lazarev, Kurt Moll, Helmuth Rilling and Speranza Scapucci. Born in America, she has enjoyed great success at competitions including the Gerda Lissner Competition, Opera Birmingham Competition and Marilyn Horne Song Competition.
