Thomas Reimer has worked closely with Harry Kupfer and Hans Schavernoch for many years, and in Frankfurt on Prokofiev'sThe Gambler and this production of Glinka's Iwan Sussanin and. He recently collaborated with Kupfer on Lady Macbeth von Mtsensk at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Der Rosenkavalier at the 2014 Salzburg Festival, which then went to La Scala Milan, Parsifal at the New National Theatre in Tokyo and Die lustige Witwe/The Merry Widow at the Hamburg State Opera. A qualified television technician, he has also worked on diverse TV and DVD productions. His first project for the stage was John Neumeier's Winterreise in Hamburg. He also filmed symphonies Sibelius – ein architektonisches Wintermärchen (an architectural winter tale) and Edvard Grieg – Die Geschichte des Lebens (the story of life) for WDR, created TV and DVD projections for the musicals Miami Nights, Robin Hood and Die Schöne und das Biest/Beauty and the Beast and designed videos for the musical Elisabeth (2008-12 tour version and new production at the Raimund Theater in Vienna).
