Reinhard Traub, who started working at the Graz Bühnen (stages) in 1992/93, is Head of Lighting at the Staatstheater in Stuttgart. He has also created concepts for light designs at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Theater an der Wien, the opera houses in Zürich, Brussels, Hamburg, Mannheim, the Bayreuther and Salzburg festivals, the Glyndebourne Festival and plays at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, the Volksbühne Berlin and Burgtheater in Vienna. He works regularly with the directors including Johann Kresnik, Martin Kušej and Christof Loy and the production of Falstaff, directed by Peter Konwitschny, was voted »Best Production of 2001« by critics from Opernwelt magazine.
