The American conductor and composer Brad Lubman has received much acclaim, all over the world, is recent decades for his versatility, impressive technique and sensitive interpretation. Much sought after by orchestras in Europe and America, he has enjoyed long working relationships with renowned groups of musicians including the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the NDR Sinfonieorchester, WDR Sinfonieorchester in Cologne and the Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. The many other orchestras with whom he has worked have included the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Residentie Orkest Den Haag, National Symphony Orchestra Taiwan, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He has also worked with many leading European and American ensembles specialising in contemporary music, including the Ensemble Modern, London Sinfonietta, Klangforum Wien, the Asko | Schönberg Ensemble Amsterdam, Ensemble Resonanz, the Los Angeles Philharmonic New Music Group, Chicago Symphony MusicNOW and Steve Reich and Musicians. Last season, at the Musikfest in Berlin, he conducted the Ensemble Modern and last November he conducted the hr.Sinfonieorchester at the cresc… Biennale for Modern Music – a concert to honour Helmut Lachenmann's 80th birthday. Brad Lubman is the artisic and music director of Musik Signal – an ensemble for contemporary music that he helped to found. A recent recording of Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians for harmonia mundi won a »Diapason d’or«.
