Dylan Corlay, winner of the 2015 International Jorma Panula Conducting Competi­tion in Finland, studied with conductors including Jean-Sébastien Béreau, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Philippe Ferro, Atso Almila, Jorma Panula and Péter Eötvös. He has been Assistant Conductor to Matthias Pintscher at the Ensemble intercontemporain since 2015. Born in Vitré, France, he studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris, where he won many prizes and from where he graduated in conducting, chamber music, bassoon and teaching. He also learned the trumpet, guitar, piano and ondes Martenot. He furthered his bassoon studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and played in many leading European orchestras under conductors including Tugan Sokhiev, Philippe Jordan, Myung-Whun Chung and Pierre Boulez. He is also a very dedicated teacher and award winning composer. Recent conducting engagements have included appearances with the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, Orchestre National d’Ile de France, Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, Orchestre Lamoureux, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse and the Bern Symphony Orchestra.
