Piotr Beczała

The Polish tenor Piotr Beczała, whose roles in Frankfurt have included his unforgettable portrayal of Werther, has been a regular guest at leading opera houses around the world, including the Berlin, Munich and Vienna state operas, La Scala Milan and the Metropolitan Opera in New York since making his Met debut in 2006.  He also sings often at other theatres, including the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Opera National de Paris, Zurich Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London and the Salzburg Festival. Piotr Beczała wurde was awarded an ECHO Klassik in 2014 as »Singer of the Year«. He also much in demand for concert and recitals, appearing at places including the Heidelberg Spring Festival, in Baden-Baden, Berlin, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Madrid, Budapest, Vienna, Milan and Oman. His artistic achievements are documented in his extensive discography. He has been under exclusive contract to Deutsche Grammophon since 2012. He studied at the Music Academy in with, amongst others, Pawel Lisizian and Sena Jurinac.
