Lise Davidsen

The young Norwegian dramatic soprano Lise Davidsen, who won the 2015 Operalia and Queen Sonja singing competitions, is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time. Earlier this season she sang Freia in concert performances with the Odense Symphony Orchestra under Alexander Vedernikov and Ortlinde (role debut) in Die Walküre at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. She is giving a recital, accompaned by Helmut Deutsch, in Bergen in May 2016. After studying at the Grieg Academy of Music in Bergen she went to the Opera Academy in Copenhagen to complete her training. Roles at the Royal Opera House there during the 2012/13 season included Dog / Owl (The Cunning Little Vixen), Emilia (Otello) and Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus). In 2015 she sang the title role in Hindemith's Sancta Susanna at Norske Opera in Oslo. Recent concert work has included Verdi's Requiem at the Philharmonie in Berlin, with the Norwegian Radio Orchester in the Kirsten Flagstad Hall and Vier letzte Lieder/The Four Last Songs with the Filarmonia George Enescu in Bucharest.
