Nicole Pleuler has been working as a freelance set and costume designer in film, drama, ballet and opera since 2001. Der goldene Drache / The Golden Dragen was the first production she helped create at Oper Frankfurt, although she and the director Elisabeth Stöppler have worked together for many years. She studied costume design in Hamburg after training to cut cloth for costumes at the Residenztheater in Munich. Places where she has worked have included the Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, the Staatstheaters in Hannover, Mainz and Oldenburg, Schwerin, Nürnberg and Braunschweig, Theater Erlangen, the Staatsschauspiel in Dresden, Schauspiel Essen, the Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen and the Deutsche Nationaltheater in Weimar.
