The Turkish bass Bass Önay Köse is making his debut at Oper Frankfurt, singing Sparafucile in this new production of Rigoletto. He was engaged to join the ensemble at the Komische Oper in Berlin from the 2016/17 season immediately after graduating from the Juilliard School in New York. His roles in Berlin include Der Nachtwächter/The Night Watchman in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Gremin in Eugen Onegin, Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte and Pluto in Orfeo. He makes his debut at Tulsa Opera soon, singing Méphistophélès in Faust. He made his debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York as the solo bass in Beethoven 9. Whilst still a student this young singer performed in New York's Alice Tully Hall and sang a Cappadocian in Strauss’ Salome at San Antonio Opera. His repertoire also includes the roles of Bartolo (Le nozze di Figaro), the King (Cendrillon), Priest / Badger (The Cunning Little Vixen) and Pantalone (Wolf-Ferrari's Le donne curiose).
