Ludwig Mittelhammer joined the Opera Studio at Oper Frankfurt in 2015/16, making his debut in the house as Sergej Mentschikoff in concert performances of Der Graf von Luxemburg which was followed by Carlos in the world premiere of Langemann's Anna Toll. During the 2016/17 season he gives a recital in the Holzfoyer in April and sings the Western Union Boy in Britten's Paul Bunyan and Marullo in Rigoletto - both new productions - and Schaunard (role debut) in La Bohème. This young baritone recently sang Eustachio (I pazzi per progetto), Georges (Le bal) and Nardo (La finta giardiniera - a role he also sang with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra under Ainārs Rubiķis) at the Prinzregententheater and Háraschta (The Cunning Little Vixen) in a co-production between the Bayerische Theaterakademie and the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich. Orchestras with whom Ludwig Mittelhammer has appeared in concert include the Bochum Symphoniker, Concerto Köln, the Munich Radio Orchestra and Munich and Nürnberg symphony orchestras. Places where he has appeared in recital with his pianist Jonathan Ware have included the Philharmonie in Cologne, the Heidelberg Frühling (spring) Festival, the Konzerthaus in Vienna and Prinzregententheater in Munich. Ludwig Mittelhammer received scholarships from »Live music now – Yehudi Menuhin«, the Deutschen Bühnenverein and was awarded the 2015 Bavarian Kunstförderpreis.
