The bass Jeremy Bowes - Ben Benny in Paul Bunyan - is making his debut at Oper Frankfurt. He was born in Canada and was a member of the youth ensemble at the Sächsische Staatsoper in Dresden for two years, which ended in 2011/12, where roles included Colline (La Bohème), Zuniga (Carmen), King (Cuis' Der gestiefelte Kater/Puss in Boots) and George Benton (Heggie's Dead Man Walking). In 2013 Jeremy Bowes made his debut in his home town of Victoria at Pacific Opera as Pistola in Falstaff, where he has since returned for Bonzo (Madama Butterfly) and Lodovico (Otello) and where he returns this season for Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte. Other recent engagements have taken place in Canada, where has has sung at Montréal Opera, Vancouver Opera and appeared in concert with the Windsor Symphony (Mendelssohn's Elias), the Kingston Symphony and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir.
